Intelligent Upgrade of Breeding Bases: How Thermo-hygrometers Can Achieve Unmanned Environmental Control

Dec 12, 2025

In the era of smart agriculture, large-scale breeding bases are undergoing an in-depth transformation towards automation and intelligence. Among the core technologies driving this upgrade, smart temperature and humidity meters have become a key tool, completely revolutionizing the breeding environment management model by realizing unmanned control. Traditional breeding relies on manual inspections to monitor temperature and humidity, which is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive, but also prone to response delays and human errors - these factors directly affect livestock and poultry health and breeding efficiency. Smart temperature and humidity meters successfully solve these industry pain points by integrating precise sensing, wireless communication and automatic linkage functions.

At the heart of the system lies advanced sensing technology. The intelligent temperature and humidity meter for breeding uses a high-precision capacitive humidity sensor and NTC thermistor, which can detect temperature fluctuations within ±0.3°C and changes in relative humidity of ±2%. Using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules, these devices transmit real-time environmental data to a central cloud platform or mobile app, allowing farmers to monitor remotely 24 hours a day. More importantly, they are seamlessly connected to the automated control system of the breeding base (including ventilation fans, heating equipment, humidifiers and dehumidifiers). When the temperature and humidity deviate from the preset optimal range (for example, the temperature of piglet breeding exceeds 26°C or the humidity of poultry breeding is lower than 60% relative humidity), the thermo-hygrometer will immediately trigger a response: the system automatically adjusts ventilation intensity, starts heating or cooling equipment, or regulates humidity levels, without manual intervention.

This unmanned management and control model has brought multiple transformative benefits. First, it significantly reduces labor costs. A smart temperature and humidity meter can cover a breeding area of 500-1000 square meters, eliminating the need for staff to conduct frequent on-site inspections. Second, it improves environmental stability. Livestock and poultry such as pigs, chickens, and cattle have strict requirements on the living environment - stable temperature (18-24°C for adult pigs, 30-32°C for chicks) and humidity (55-70% relative humidity is suitable for most livestock and poultry) are the keys to preventing diseases and promoting growth. The real-time monitoring and rapid response of the temperature and humidity meter minimizes environmental fluctuations, significantly reducing the incidence of livestock and poultry diseases (such as respiratory infections) in some scenarios, and increasing the survival rate by 15-20%. Third, it optimizes resource utilization efficiency. The system automatically adjusts equipment operation based on actual environmental data, avoiding energy waste caused by long-term ineffective operation of heating or ventilation equipment, and can reduce energy consumption by 20-30% compared to manual control.

With the continuous development of smart agriculture, the role of smart temperature and humidity meters will become more and more critical. Future versions may integrate artificial intelligence algorithms to predict environmental changes and proactively adjust management and control strategies, or interface with gas sensors to achieve comprehensive environmental management. For breeding bases, investing in intelligent temperature and humidity meter systems is not only a technological upgrade, but also a strategic move to enhance competitiveness, reduce costs, and achieve sustainable development of the modern breeding industry.
